Seamus Andrew is a commercial litigator specialising in international litigation and arbitration having practised at the English bar with Clifford Chance and with the offshore firm Walkers. Seamus is licensed to appear as an advocate in all English courts. He has experience at all levels of civil tribunal in both the UK and the Cayman Islands and is admitted to practise as a Solicitor and a Barrister to the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in the Territory of the Virgin Islands. Seamus has extensive experience of financial services disputes and in particular hedge fund disputes, and has provided expert evidence in hedge fund litigation to Federal Courts in the Southern District of Manhattan and in Philadelphia. Seamus also has experience of litigating disputes relating to shipping, intellectual property and trusts, and has spoken extensively at conferences on the subjects of trust litigation and anti-money laundering laws.
An experienced dispute resolution lawyer, Danielle has worked in the United Kingdom, Middle East and Australia on complex disputes in a broad range of industries. Before joining SCA ONTIER LLP in 2016, Danielle worked in the dispute resolution practice of international law firm Herbert Smith Freehills. Danielle’s litigation, arbitration and ADR practice focuses on significant commercial and cross-border disputes. Danielle has particular experience of complex insolvency and restructuring, corporate fraud, professional negligence, trust and banking disputes, claims for breaches of directors’ duties and class actions. Her recent experience includes acting for administrators in connection with the global insolvency and sale of a major corporate group, and advising in connection with the recognition of foreign insolvency proceedings in English courts. Danielle also advises in the context of regulatory requests and investigations.
Derek Stinson is an experienced corporate, commercial and regulatory lawyer who joined the firm in 2013 having previously spent six years at Dentons. Derek is a specialist in corporate reorganisations and restructurings with strong experience in capital raisings for distressed companies. He also advises on due diligence and corporate governance matters, including directors’ duties. Derek advised on the Federal-Mogul and Turner & Newall insolvency, which included the U.S. chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Derek also advised on the reorganisation of the German media giant Bertelsmann and has completed numerous schemes of arrangement.
